Things to keep in mind when racing the rolling start process-XperKart

Things to keep in mind when racing the rolling start process:

  1. Remember your position. It is not important to remember your position during the exit lap, the key is to arrive at the designated position during the formation lap to avoid team confusion and to ensure the race runs smoothly.
  2. Do not overtake when completing the exit lap. Even if you are not in first place, return to your original position on the formation lap unless the car in front of you has passed.
  3. Drivers are required to maintain their starting position and not to obstruct others. During the formation lap, if the car in front of you is unable to get out, you need to leave a place for it. After the red line, the formation will be considered complete. If you do not reach the position you should be in, you must start at the end of the line. If there is no red line rule, start after the last turn of the formation lap.
  4. The formation must not be disrupted by changing lanes before the start signal. After the starting signal, the lead car may change lanes, or if it does not receive the signal, it must return to its original position after the red line. The lead car shall inform the rear car of the situation and the rear car shall slow down and maintain its position after receiving the information.
  5. If the race is not started after the formation lap, all cars are required to stay in formation if the marshals consider that the formation is not completed. The lead car is responsible for observing the flags and when a red flag signal is received, all cars must return to the PIT or stop on the track in the original order.

The lead car is responsible for the success of the formation lap. Slow down after the exit lap, pick a formation position, pass through the narrow corner quickly and raise your hand to start the formation. Turn around to observe the distance to the rear and the formation, and drive slowly. The lead car needs to control the speed to avoid confusion. The other drivers should stop moving before the penultimate turn to keep the formation tidy.
